Unless her castle is in the sky, our fantasy sorceress needs a domain to survey, so I decided some rugged mountains would look good. Again, I started these in their own layer in Photoshop.

I worked very hard over several days to finish these mountains, and as it turns out much of this ended up covered in the final piece. Still, I was pleased with them and thought they were worth the effort. Notice how the guidelines saved me from having to make them span the entire scene.

The mountains help to establish the setting for the picture, otherwise the castle could be anywhere.

Notice that the light is from the right, just like on our girl.
